Diagnose the disposal problem before pricing replacement
Surfacing wastewater, backups, saturated ground or recurring service calls require investigation, but the symptom alone does not define the repair. The tank, outlet, distribution box, pump, lines, soil and groundwater conditions can each affect performance.
Ask for the failure cause and the evidence supporting full field replacement. A contained component repair and a new engineered absorption area are materially different projects.
The approved design controls the expensive work
Usable soil area, loading rate, setbacks, reserve area, elevation and groundwater conditions influence the design. Gravity trenches, chambers, pressure distribution and mound systems do not share one material list or excavation plan.

A field quote should state distribution components, trench or bed construction, aggregate or chamber product, imported fill, pumps and controls, inspections, seeding or landscaping, and protection of nearby features.
Confirm exclusions for trees, retaining walls, irrigation, utility conflicts, rock, unsuitable excavated material and wet-weather delay. Those boundaries explain many apparent price differences.
