The proposal should state whether the existing field can remain connected and whether the authority requires a broader system review before approving the replacement.
Access, groundwater and the old tank change the job
Machine access, tank depth, nearby structures and utilities, groundwater control and the route for a replacement tank all affect excavation. The old tank may need pumping, crushing, filling, removal or another locally approved abandonment method.
Keep risers, baffles, filters, pumps, alarms, pipe connections and final grading visible as separate scope. These items can be omitted from a tank-only headline.
What a replacement quote should state
Require the proposed material and capacity, manufacturer information, inlet and outlet connections, excavation, old-tank handling, permit and inspection responsibility, restoration, warranty and the process for concealed conditions.
If drain-field work appears as a provisional sum, ask what evidence would trigger it and what approval is required before that additional work begins.
